Tears being shed
Over broken promises
That you could never keep.
Regret taking over
The mind that was once free
To wander in happiness.
Silent moments
Turning into hours
Of not a word being said.
Hidden fears of life
Seem to creep from the dark
Reminding me I’m not alone.
Memories begin to haunt
And what smiles that were left
Fade into the shadows.
Nothing here now
Only a river of bloody tears
To remind us of our past.
